I spotted this European goldfinch during a visit to Monet's garden in Giverny, France. Surrounded by light, color, and movement, the garden felt alive in the same way Monet's paintings do. As one of my favorite artists, standing in the place that inspired him—and seeing this bright little bird—was an unforgettable moment I wanted to capture in watercolor.
