This painting titles "Mount Etna" was inspired by a beautiful view in Sicily, seen during a tour to Savoca. The landscape opened up with sweeping coastline, soft blue water, and rolling green hills, with Mount Etna rising quietly in the distance.

I used 2 different reference photos to create contrast between the expansive view and the intimate foreground of white calla lilies. Their simple, elegant forms frame the scene, adding a sense of calm and balance to the vast landscape beyond.
