Perfect Catch – Osprey Over Jupiter Beach Original Watercolor

While walking along Jupiter Beach, I looked up just in time to see an osprey flying over the ocean with its catch. Against the dramatic clouds and deep blue water, the dark silhouette of the bird created one of those fleeting moments that immediately made me want to paint it.

This watercolor captures the movement of the surf, the changing Florida sky, and the osprey heading off with its freshly caught fish. I especially loved the contrast between the powerful, stormy-looking clouds and the simplicity of the bird in silhouette.

Scenes like this are one of the reasons I enjoy walking the beaches near home—there is always something unexpected happening in nature if you happen to look up at the right moment.
