This painting started with a simple branch of cherries, but I had a lot of fun letting the colors and patterns take over. I loved the pop of bright red against the cool blues and the way the wavy lines add movement, almost like everything is gently vibrating with energy.
I worked loosely and intuitively, layering color and marks until it felt lively and joyful rather than realistic. It’s one of those pieces that’s less about the object itself and more about the rhythm, color, and playful mood.
