This painting was inspired by spending time watching a bee as it worked its way through a flower. I was captivated by how completely absorbed he was in what it was doing.

As I painted, I kept thinking about how important bees are to all life—quietly doing their work, helping plants grow and ecosystems survive. It’s hard not to feel protective of them, especially knowing how much they’re struggling right now.

I paid close attention to texture—the pollen, the fine hairs, and the little water droplets on the petals—trying to capture one small moment that feels both peaceful and meaningful.

This piece is about noticing, appreciating, and honoring these tiny creatures that play such a big role in our world.
