This watercolor painting features a Carolina wren perched among twisting, weathered branches. The reference for this piece came from a trip to Colorado to visit family. We rode up to Estes Park where we were hiking and bird watching. I was drawn to the flowing lines and earthy tones in the dead tree and the rare sighting of the wrens was a bonus!
