This painting came from spending time really looking at a single rose—the way the petals slowly curl and fold into each other. I loved how the light moved across the flower and how subtle shifts of color showed up in what looks like “just white.”
As I painted this I used the soft purples, blues, and greens to build the form of the rose. It’s less about a perfect flower and more creating a quiet, almost meditative moment of slowing down and paying attention.
