Taking Flight | Original Great Egret Watercolor Painting -20x14"

With wings outstretched, a white egret glides gracefully above the still blue water, its reflection captured beneath the surface. Behind it, a tangle of grasses and branches creates a rich, textured backdrop, contrasting with the delicate white feathers and luminous blue water. This scene never gets old.

In this original watercolor, I wanted to capture the fleeting beauty of a Great Egret in flight and the fascinating interplay of light, movement, and reflection. The intricate patterns of the mangroves provide a sense of place, while the egret brings a moment of quiet elegance to the scene.

Inspired by the natural beauty of Florida's coastal wetlands, Taking Flight celebrates the grace and wonder of the birds that inhabit these special places.
