Watchful — Original Watercolor Painting - Florida Panther

The Florida panther is one of those animals that has always fascinated me. Elusive and rarely seen, it represents a wild side of Florida that still exists beyond our neighborhoods and busy roads.

For this watercolor, I wanted the panther to feel close and immediate, almost as though we have suddenly caught one another’s eye. I focused on the expression and pale, watchful eyes, while keeping the surrounding foliage loose and filled with glowing greens and filtered sunlight.

The softness and transparency of watercolor were perfect for creating the subtle colors of the fur while allowing the background to remain atmospheric and full of light.

This original painting is made using professional grade materials. It measures 20x20" and will be rolled and carefully packaged in a mailing tube. Instructions for flattening will be included.
